classes offered

Al offers many classes in the fibre arts.  He can offer these classes to guilds as a one day event, or he will also teach them in his studio in Niagara Falls privately in groups of at least three and up to 10.

CURVED PIECING WITH RAW EDGE APPLIQUE

This class will teach you how to cut and sew with curves.  There is no using of rulers or measuring.  You will learn horizontal and vertical piecing.

Raw edge appliques are then added to your finished background.

Crows are a favourite them, but Al will help you draw and design anything you like. (eg. butterflies, bees, flowers).

Improvisational Abstract with one colour dyeing

Using an assortment of fabrics in any colours, which may include velvets, organzas, cottons, silks, wools and even old clothing , you will dye these fabrics one colour (black works best).  This makes everything the same "shade".

You will then rip, cut, fold and sew these together into separate blocks, creating a one of a kind abstract wallhanging.  Adding buttons, beads and ribbons will complete your piece.
